Rain... it can be good and bad. One of the bad stories occured about 2 nights ago. I was moving my dad's truck around so that I could drive it the next morning. Well, apparently I rolled the window down in order to see when I was backing up, and left the window down. It rained over night. The next morning I went to go to work and the truck was wet. There's a pocket/handle in the door where my phone fits perfectly. So I put my phone in there as usual. When I got to work, I pull it out and my hand is all wet. WHAT?!?! OH MY GOODNESS! I was freaking out... After a few hours, my phone dried out pretty harmlessly. Some of the buttons are still hard to push, so if I am texting you and leave out an "h" or "t" or "r" that's why.  I do know how to spell.

ON THE OTHER HAND,

One of the joys of summer, my favorite joys of summer, is the rain! It's not like other rain. It pours for 20 minutes maybe, then it's over. The thunder, lightening, and wind right before the rain is my favorite type of weather. Then when you know it's coming, it's coming! You hear it usually to the right or to the left of you, then you're just anticipating it eagerly!! When's it going to hit me?? Then it hits you hard and sharp   and cold. That's the worst part. So I run inside and think oh no, that's no fun. Then!

I see it pouring! harder than when I was out there. So that's when I get my puppy, Koda, and force him out the front door. AND WE'RE OFF! up and down the hills of our neighborhood. The neighbors are just about the most entertaining part. My dog shaking the water off every 5 minutes makes me laugh every time. Today, this neighbor, probably about 78 years old, is in her car pulling up to her mailbox to get her mail. She has her window down and is trying to drive carefully in order to avoid running over my dog. Thank you, old neighbor. Then she speaks to me, "You're getting wet!" Really? Really??? and this is why they came up with the name "Sherlock." Thank you, old neighbor. You have a firm grasp of the obvious as Dr. Kemp would say.

Then Koda finds other dogs in fences to harrass. When I keep yelling at him to follow me, he flirts with the idea, but doesn't choose it. By the time I get back to the house, guess who's waiting for me with his spikey fur and pink tongue? That's right, my very own puppy. :) Then we go in the neighbor's back yard. Oh... you know you live in the south when your yard turns a pretty shade of orange every time it rains. I squished the clay between my toes while Koda harrassed his brother Mater teasing him because I didn't bring Mater out to play with us.

"Ok, buddy. We're almost done. We just have to walk through the ditch then we'll go inside." Koda runs the opposite way of the ditch, but he was waiting at the door when I got there. We come inside "Oh Laura!!!" My mother is pleased with our accomplishment. Well, sort of. "Don't you know when to come in from the rain?!" Yeah! When it stops or is only sprinkling! She laughs at us, and gives us towels. But I just go back outside. She takes my phone and takes pictuers of me playing with Mater and Koda in the rain. How sweet of her.

This morning when I woke up, I didn't want to wake up. I went back to sleep for about an hour. Then got up and ate and did boring stuff, then I tried to do homework. Nope, fell asleep again for about another 30 or 45 minutes. Then! I hear thunder and lightening, and I'm fully alive! :D I think God was giving me a chance to rest because He knew I'd need that energy to go play in the rain with my babies! Thanks!

"My daddy spent his life lookin up at the sky. He'd cuss, kick the dust, sayin son "it's way too dry! The clouds up in the city, the weather man complains. But where I come from, rain is a good thing!" - Luke Bryan

"I wanna cry like the rain, cry like the rain, shine like the sun on a beautiful mornin!" - Josh Gracin

Oh, and... one of the qualifications for my husband... He must play in the rain with me :)
